Jackie Pavlik is a ceramic artist, instructor, and founder of Hands On Clay Studio in the South Valley of Albuquerque. Her passion lies in teaching, learning, and mentoring in clay. She holds two master’s degrees in art and education from Columbia University. Her focus is to create functional wares designed for daily use. Her work is primarily wheel-thrown stoneware, she gravitates toward cylindrical shapes. Simplicity central to her approach. Each piece she creates is unique and perfectly imperfect. A blend of modern and rustic. This fusion is great for both functional and decorative ceramics.
Don Harrington is a full-time studio artist at Hands On Clay Studio in Albuquerque’s South Valley. Before delving into pottery, Don dedicated over 30 years to working as a software engineer and instructor. His teaching experience continues, albeit now as a ceramics instructor. His upbringing in New Mexico remains a profound influence on his work and approach to ceramics. The result is a focus on crafting both creative and functional wares suitable for everyday use. Don’s creations are available for purchase at local art fairs and regional pop-ups in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
